ARTISAN JUDGES REVEALED!

We are hugely proud of our panel of Judges for the 2012 Awards. They will be blind tasting the entries using their expertise and refined taste to find The Double Gold Winner 2012

 Meet the Artisan Judges:

Lady Claire MacDonald, food writer, was labelled by the Financial Times as ‘infectiously enthusiastic’ and is Scotland’s foremost ambassador for revitalised traditions.

Walter Scott, Joint Managing Director of Wilkin & Sons Ltd, has a lifetime of experience of understanding good marmalades and knows all about traditional methods of marmalade production.

Phil Mumby, speciality consultant for Ringtons Tea and Fortnum & Mason, is an experienced taster and buyer. He has been invited because of his experience as a taster which will enable him to find the special qualities in the marmalades

Ivan Day, food historian, is the leading expert on historic cookery in Britain. With over 40 years experience his speciality is the evolution of marmalade.

Clare Hargreaves is Local & Seasonal Editor for BBC Good Food, Food Editor of BBC Countryfile Magazine, and writes a regular column for Fork magazine.

Sarah Randell, Food Director at Sainsbury’s Magazine.  Her first co-written book The Food of France won a Gourmand World cookbook award.

Pam Corbin, founder of Thursday Cottage and now consultant, has for the past 6 years worked closely with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and The River Cottage Team.

Jonathan Miller, New Product Development Buyer at Fortnum & Mason, is looking for an all roundmarmalade. He says marmalade ‘is the backbone of the British breakfast table and has long been a firm favourite at Fortnum’s.’
