THE MARMALADE AWARDS AND ME, by Jennifer Williams

I heard about the World Marmalade Awards in a roundabout way. I was collecting my two children from school when one of the other children’s fathers told me that he had been listening to Woman’s Hour that morning where they had discussed the forthcoming awards. He knew that I liked to make marmalade and suggested that I should enter.

I was both intrigued and excited, and set about discovering more details. Would I, an ‘ordinary housewife’, be eligible to enter such a prestigious competition?

Some time spent at my computer revealed to me that, yes I could enter, but, the deadline for entries was just eight short days away. Undaunted, I made my mind up to give it a go.
