Our Festival is this weekend! Entry tickets are just £4.50 on the gate to this the 7thWorld’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th February 2012. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm both days.

Your marmalades have arrived and tickets to the festival workshop events are flying off the shelves. Buying an event ticket is easy: just download this booking form, choose the events you want to go to and book tickets by sending the form to us. Or simply telephone 017684 86450, or email marmalade@dalemain.com. Each event is priced at £12 and includes FREE entry to the festival.

There is something for everyone with Marmalade Making Workshops, a Talk and Tasting with Ivan Day, demonstrations by Guardian baking guru Dan Lepard and a chance to the hear the Dalemain String Trio play Beethoven, Dohnanyi and Prokofiev with a citrus twist. The Trio will feature Andrew Watkinson, leader of the Endellion Quartet, who can be seen in action below playing Franz Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in E-flat major, Opus 33 No. 2 (The Joke) at the San Miguel de Allende international Chamber Music Festival 2010 July 29th 2010

THE MARMALADE AWARDS AND ME, by Jennifer Williams

I heard about the World Marmalade Awards in a roundabout way. I was collecting my two children from school when one of the other children’s fathers told me that he had been listening to Woman’s Hour that morning where they had discussed the forthcoming awards. He knew that I liked to make marmalade and suggested that I should enter.

I was both intrigued and excited, and set about discovering more details. Would I, an ‘ordinary housewife’, be eligible to enter such a prestigious competition?

Some time spent at my computer revealed to me that, yes I could enter, but, the deadline for entries was just eight short days away. Undaunted, I made my mind up to give it a go. Furthermore, because I love to experiment with flavour combinations, I resolved to design a new, unique marmalade. In just eight days! Read More »
